In west Orange County, an immigration arrest usually starts with a traffic stop or a local arrest. Arrests in Orange County are booked at the Orange County Jail Booking and Release Center, and the jail works with ICE under a 287(g) agreement. If ICE places a detainer, the jail can hold the person up to 48 hours past their release so ICE can pick them up, and from there they may be moved to an ICE facility anywhere in Florida.
