Law360, New York (December 18, 2015, 4:18 PM ET) — The FIFA and South American Football Confederation vice president accused of accepting bribes and fraudulently obtaining U.S. citizenship will be extradited to Uruguay, Swiss authorities said Friday, prioritizing Uruguay’s request over a competing U.S. extradition bid.

Switzerland’s Federal Office of Justice said that while the U.S. and Uruguay have both been investigating irregularities in how marketing rights for soccer tournaments are given out, Uruguay’s criminal investigations cover more tournaments.
