Law360, New York (July 25, 2016, 8:24 PM ET) — The Texas Department of State Health Services and the agency’s vital statistics unit have agreed to broaden the types of documents immigrant parents can provide to obtain birth certificates for their American-born children, according to a settlement agreement.

Under the agreement, certified documents issued by the consulates of El Salvador will be accepted, and the agency said it is currently reviewing documents provided by the consulates of Guatemala and Honduras as well.
