Law360, New York (October 19, 2016, 9:24 PM EDT) — Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio asked an Arizona federal judge on Tuesday to delete “inflammatory rhetoric” from a proposed order to show cause in the criminal contempt case against him because the language might cause the judge to make improper findings of facts.

Arpaio complains in his reply in support of his objection to the OSC that the government’s inclusion of the phrase “extensive evidence demonstrating Arpaio’s intentional and continuing noncompliance” gives the impression that the evidence already exists in the record. He said the government…
