Law360, New York (September 21, 2016, 3:53 PM EDT) — Mass deportations such as those proposed by Donald Trump would cost the U.S. economy $4.7 trillion over the next decade, and the hardest-hit industries would be agriculture, leisure and hospitality and construction, according to a new report by the Center for American Progress.

Deporting the estimated 7 million unauthorized workers in the United States would reduce national employment to an amount similar to that experienced during the Great Recession, CAP said in “The Economic Impacts of Removing Unauthorized Immigrant Workers,” released Wednesday.
