Law360, New York (September 13, 2016, 8:33 PM EDT) — Legal advocacy groups on Monday launched a class action in Arizona over the state’s alleged practice of refusing to grant driver’s licenses to certain immigrants, saying that the state’s policy discriminates against people who aren’t citizens without “any valid justification.”

Filed by the National Immigration Law Center, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Ortega Law Firm PC on behalf of immigrant plaintiffs, the suit claims that policies denying deferred deportation recipients driver’s licences frustrate federal immigration law.
