Law360, New York (September 6, 2016, 6:21 PM ET) — The U.S. government on Friday asked a Florida federal court to order the Internal Revenue Service to disclose the tax returns of a sports agent accused of smuggling Cuban baseball players into the United States.

The court should permit the jury to consider evidence that the sports agent, Bartolo Hernandez, and other defendants failed to file returns or pay taxes as evidence of their intent, the U.S. Attorney’s Office argued in refuting Hernandez’s Aug. 29 motion to show cause why his tax returns should be disclosed….
