Law360, New York (October 11, 2016, 1:06 PM EDT) — The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Tuesday that general counsel David Lopez will depart from the agency in December, following a six-and-a-half year term that was marked by several groundbreaking legal victories.

Lopez, who was twice nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate, most recently in 2014, is the longest-serving general counsel in the history of the EEOC. He is also the agency’s first Latino general counsel.
