Law360, Chicago (October 3, 2016, 6:06 PM EDT) — The Seventh Circuit Monday upheld the curtailment of an Indiana policy favored by Republican Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence, saying that the state cannot block refugee aid organizations from doling out federal cash to help Syrians fleeing civil war.
The appellate court said that aid organization Exodus Refugee Immigration Inc. was likely to win its legal challenge against Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and, for the time being, prohibited the state from barring federal funds from being used in Exodus’ work to resettle Syrian refugees.
