Law360, New York (October 3, 2016, 11:10 PM EDT) — Executives at Tenet Healthcare hospitals lied to in-house and outside counsel to conceal a kickback scheme and wrote incriminating emails about paying for patient referrals, according to documents released Monday in a $513 million settlement of civil and criminal allegations.
The deal includes a criminal forfeiture of $145 million and False Claims Act payouts totaling $368 million, of which an FCA whistleblower will get $84 million.
